As per the 2011 census, Jorethang boasts a population of 9009 with an impressive literacy rate of 88.85 percent, surpassing Sikkim's overall literacy rate of 81.42 percent. Notably, Jorethang is renowned for its bustling taxi stand, facilitating shared transportation to almost all destinations in Sikkim and North Bengal.
